It’s that time of the year again – Diwali is right around the corner. Isn’t the festive season the best? Decorating every nook and corner of our home with candle lights, bright diyas, colourful lanterns, houses filled with the delicious smell of delightful sweets, friends, and family, and the joy of exchanging gifts is just so exciting. Likewise, it is also the time to treat yourself for this festive season. But, how do you do that? Well! Pampering your skin and body can be a fun way to keep the festive spirit high through this year’s Diwali.
Every Diwali, your parents and grandparents might have woken you up early morning only to have “abhyanga snan”. This ritual of skincare has been followed for ages, specifically during Diwali. But do you know the significance of “abhyanga snan”? Also acknowledged as a holy bath, “abhyanga snan” is a bathing ritual wherein everyone wakes up before sunrise and massages their entire body with scented oils. This is then followed by the application of ubtan, which is a mix of spices and herbs.
“Abhyanga Snan”- The Holy Ritual
According to mythology, on Narak Chaturdasi or Naraka Chaudas, Lord Krishna killed the demon Narakasur. So this day signifies the victory of good over evil, and the practice of “Abhyanga Snan” was started. This is an early morning ritual where the body is pampered with fragrant oil massage followed by applying ubtan from head to toe, making us feel refreshed, rejuvenated, hydrated, and, most importantly, relaxed. Ubtan has been used for ages; it is a blend of rich herbs and spices to rejuvenate skin. These natural herbs help to remove dead skin giving soft, blemish-free skin. Making ubtan is quite a task, and with our busy schedules these days, it is not always feasible for us to prepare this mixture. But no worries, SSCPL herbals makes it easier for you by bringing unique aromatic soaps. So say hello to beautiful, radiant skin this Diwali with SSCPL Diwali unique ubtan soaps. Give your skin “the love and care it deserves”.
